What dinner for two costs at Kenda

Grill plates, the tasting menu, drinks and taxes: a plain guide to what an evening here usually costs.

We are often asked what an evening at Kenda will cost. It depends on how you eat, so here are three typical dinners for two, with real prices from our current menu.

A lighter dinner from the grill menu: ember-roasted corn, charred brinjal with smoked curd, chicken tikka on tamarind wood, two breads and the smoked tomato saaru. That comes to about ₹2,250 before taxes. Add two house coolers at ₹240 each, and with GST at 5 per cent the bill comes to around ₹2,860. Most couples who come on a weekday eat like this.

A bigger dinner: corn, peppers, lamb chops, pork ribs with kachampuli, breads and the fire-roasted pear for dessert. That is around ₹4,400 before drinks. With two coolers and taxes, a little over ₹5,100.

The tasting menu is ₹3,800 a person, so ₹7,600 for two, plus ₹1,200 a person if you take the non-alcoholic pairing. With taxes, two people with the pairing spend about ₹10,500. It runs Thursday to Sunday, one seating at 8 pm. We do not add a service charge to the bill. Tips are your choice and are shared equally among the whole team, including the kitchen. Valet parking is free. If you are planning a birthday or anniversary on a budget, tell us when you book and we will suggest a menu that fits it.
