Hansaben and Dilip Shah opened with twelve seats in 1998. Today eight cooks roll about 4,000 rotlis a day, the farsan is made from 6 am, and nothing on the plate is bought ready-made.
Unlimited Gujarati and Kathiawadi thalis, rotlis straight off the tawa, and farsan made the same morning. The Sunday festive thali: 31 dishes, unlimited, with jalebi and rabdi and undhiyu in winter. Served 11.30 am to 3.30 pm.

Hinchko Thali House, year by year
- 1998
Twelve seats in a Navrangpura front room
Hansaben and Dilip Shah opened with one thali, a menu chalked on a slate each morning, and rotlis Hansaben rolled herself.
- 2006
The Kathiawadi thali arrives
Rameshbhai joined from near Gondal and brought bajra rotla, ringan no olo and sev tameta. The Kathiawadi plate began on weekends.
- 2014
A farsan and sweets counter at the door
Regulars kept asking to take khaman home, so we built a counter by the gate and started frying jalebi every morning.
- Today
Ninety seats and eight cooks
Their son Ketan runs the dining room. Hansaben still tastes the kadhi before the doors open at 11.30.
Sit
Walk in or reserve; tables for 2 to 14.
Eat
Servers refill your thali until you say stop.
Take home
Farsan and sweets by weight at the counter.

What customers say
Sample reviews, written for this demo. Real customer reviews replace them on your store.
We came for lunch with my parents and stayed two hours. The rotlis kept coming hot and nobody rushed us.
The Kathiawadi thali tastes like my nani’s kitchen in Gondal. The ringan no olo is smoky and the rotla is real bajra.
They made a Jain thali for my mother without a fuss, and the server knew which shaak to swap.
Tomorrow’s shaak, tonight.
