Create an order for WhatsApp or phone sales

Took an order on WhatsApp, Instagram or the phone? Create it in the dashboard and mark it paid, choose cash on delivery, or send a Razorpay payment link.

Not every sale starts on your website. When a customer orders by WhatsApp, Instagram or a phone call, create the order in your dashboard. Prices, offers, delivery and GST are worked out just as at checkout, stock is taken, and the customer gets the usual emails.

Create the order

  1. Open Orders and press Create order. On a phone, tap + and choose Order.
  2. Under Items, choose a product (each size or colour is listed separately) and the quantity. Add up to five lines.
  3. Add a Coupon code if you are giving one.
  4. Under Customer, enter the Name and Mobile. Add an Email if you want them to get the order emails.
  5. Fill in the Address, City, PIN code and State, or tick They will pick it up from the store if you offer store pickup.
  6. Add a Note if you like; it is shown on the order.

Choose how they pay

  • Send a payment link: the customer pays by UPI, card or net banking through Razorpay. You need Razorpay connected first.
  • Already paid: for UPI, cash or a bank transfer you have already received.
  • Cash on delivery: collected when delivered (or at pickup).

Press Create order.

Share the payment link

If you chose a payment link, the order opens with a Waiting for payment box. Press Send on WhatsApp to open a chat with the customer and the link already typed in, or Copy it to send another way. When they pay, the order is marked paid by itself and you can pack it.

Good to know

  • Store rules for shoppers, such as holiday mode, a minimum order and the cash-on-delivery limit, do not apply to orders you create yourself.
  • Sold-out items are marked in the product list so you do not promise what you do not have.
  • Your Sales channels page links here from its WhatsApp section.
