Keeping your practice through wedding season

November to February brings sangeets, late nights and travel. How to keep two classes a week going.

From November to February our timetable meets the wedding calendar. Clients have sangeet rehearsals in the evening, relatives to host, and weekends in Udaipur or Goa. Classes slip, packs expire, and in March people come back feeling as if they have started again. A few habits help.

Move to mornings. Our 6.30 and 7.30 am classes rarely clash with functions, and a morning class is easier to keep after a late night than an evening one is after a long day. Two mornings a week is enough to keep the work familiar.

Use the pause. Every pack allows one two-week pause without a reason. If you know you will be away for the main week of a wedding, message us before you leave and your pack waits for you. Pauses only work if you tell us in advance, so do it the day you book your tickets.

Pack a small routine. We hand out a printed card with eight mat exercises that need nothing but floor space: the hundred, single leg stretch, spine stretch, swan, side kicks and a few more. Ten minutes in a hotel room keeps the habit alive.

And if you are the one getting married, a few private sessions before the day are popular for feeling steady and rested, not for changing how you look. We simply keep you moving through a busy season.
