Your store always works at yourname.upminutes.com. You can also connect a domain you own, such as www.yourbrand.com. Once connected, your store address sends shoppers on to your domain, and links, emails and the sitemap use it.
1. Buy a domain
Buy one from any registrar, such as GoDaddy, Hostinger, BigRock or Namecheap. We recommend using the www version.
2. Add it to your store
- Open Domain (under Settings).
- Type your domain, for example www.yourbrand.com, and press Connect.
- The page now shows two records to add, with Copy buttons.
If you entered a domain when you signed up, it is already waiting here.
3. Add two DNS records at your registrar
Sign in to your registrar and open the DNS settings for your domain.
- Point the domain at your store: add a CNAME record with the Name and Value shown (the name is usually www, and the value is your store address).
- Prove the domain is yours: add a TXT record with the Name and Value shown.
- Save the changes at your registrar.
4. Check now
Back on the Domain page, press Check now. It shows whether the ownership record was found and whether the domain points at your store. DNS changes can take from a few minutes to a few hours, so if a step is not found yet, wait and press Check now again. When both pass, the badge shows Connected.
Good to know
- The secure padlock (HTTPS) is set up for you once the domain points to your store.
- Your dashboard opens at both addresses; shoppers are sent to your domain.
- Visitors to yourbrand.com without www are sent to the www address.
- Moving from another website? Add redirects for your old page addresses.
- To stop using the domain, press Disconnect domain. Your store goes back to its upminutes.com address.
Your own domain is part of the Growth and Pro plans.
