On the sandbar

A beach, two rivers and coaches who grew up on this coast.

Nandini Point began in 2012 with two borrowed boards and a fisherman’s son who wanted to stand on a wave. Today nine coaches teach here, most of them from Sasihithlu and Mulki, and every one of them learned on this sandbar.

Reviews

What customers say

Sample reviews, written for this demo. Real customer reviews replace them on your store.

I am 46 and had never stood on a board. By the second morning of the course I rode a wave all the way to the sand. The coach never once made me feel slow.

Our two boys did the kids’ camp in December. They came back every day sunburnt, tired and talking about rip currents like experts.
Vikram N. · Mangaluru
They called off my lesson the night before because the swell was too big, and moved me to the next morning without a fuss. That made me trust them.

Questions

Before you book

Answers to what customers ask us most. More on the questions page.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

You need to be comfortable in the sea and able to swim about 25 metres. Beginners stay in waist-deep water with a leash and a soft board, but you should not be afraid to put your face in the water.

When is the best time of year?

October to May. November to February has the cleanest small waves for beginners. From June to September the monsoon sea is too rough and we close.

What should I bring?

Swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes and water. We provide the board, leash, rash vest and reef-safe sunscreen. Leave jewellery at home.

What if the sea is too rough on my day?

We decide by 7 pm the evening before and message you. You can move to another day free, or take a fitness class or river paddle instead.
