Who we are

Learn the sea, one wave at a time.

Nandini Point began in 2012 with two borrowed boards and a fisherman’s son who wanted to stand on a wave. Today nine coaches teach here, most of them from Sasihithlu and Mulki, and every one of them learned on this sandbar.

Lessons, coaching, kids’ camps and surf stays on the beach where two rivers meet the Arabian Sea. Seven nights, a beginner course or coaching week, meals and a paddle on the river. Most weeks from mid-December to January fill by October.

What we stand for

Three things we will not change

01

Small groups

Never more than four beginners to one coach, and the coach stays in the water with you, not on the sand.

02

The sea decides

We check the swell, wind and tide every morning and call off lessons when the sea is wrong for your level. You rebook free.

03

Plain about risk

Surfing has real risks: currents, boards and shallow sand. We explain them on the beach before you paddle out, and keep beginners in waist-deep water.

Book a week-long surf stay before the December rush.

Our story so far

Nandini Point Surf, year by year

  1. 2012

Two borrowed boards and a beach shack

Our founder Raghav starts teaching friends and visitors from a palm-leaf shack, with two boards borrowed from a visiting surfer.

  2. 2015

    The first kids’ camp

Eleven children from Mulki and Mangaluru join a five-morning camp. We write our first safety briefing and still use it, lightly edited.

  3. 2019

    The surf house opens

We rent and repair an old tiled house two minutes from the beach, with eight rooms for week-long stays and a deck for video coaching.

  4. Today

    Nine coaches, one sandbar

Nine coaches, most from the villages around the river mouth, teach about 1,600 lessons a season, plus paddle sessions on the river.

Reviews

What customers say

Sample reviews, written for this demo. Real customer reviews replace them on your store.

I am 46 and had never stood on a board. By the second morning of the course I rode a wave all the way to the sand. The coach never once made me feel slow.

Our two boys did the kids’ camp in December. They came back every day sunburnt, tired and talking about rip currents like experts.
Vikram N. · Mangaluru
They called off my lesson the night before because the swell was too big, and moved me to the next morning without a fuss. That made me trust them.
