The studio

Twenty-two karigars, one design table and a lot of chai.

Rachna Sharma trained as a textile designer and opened Gotedaar in 2009 above her father’s fabric shop. Today 22 karigars embroider in our workshop behind the studio, and every bride meets the karigars who are working on her lehenga.

I saw my lehenga on the embroidery frame at my second fitting. It fitted perfectly on the day.

We consulted on video from Pune and came to Jaipur only for the two fittings. Very well organised.
Pooja D. · Pune
My husband’s sherwani and my lehenga were designed to match. The photographs show it.

Questions

Before you book

Answers to what customers ask us most. More on the questions page.

How early should I book?

Four to six months before the wedding for a bridal lehenga. Sangeet and groom outfits need 8–10 weeks. Winter season slots fill by August.

What does a bridal lehenga cost?

Our bridal lehengas start at ₹1,20,000 and most are between ₹1,40,000 and ₹2,60,000, depending on fabric and embroidery. You get a written quote after the first consultation.

Can I do fittings remotely?

The first consultation can be on video. We need you in Jaipur for at least two fittings; we can fit them around a single weekend visit.

Do you alter outfits bought elsewhere?

Only for brides we are already dressing, and only small fitting changes. We cannot re-embroider other studios’ work.
