How to line the waterline neatly, keep kajal from smudging by noon, and take it off at night without rubbing.

Kajal is the one product many of our customers wear every single day, often from their school years. Small habits in how it goes on and comes off make a real difference to how neat it looks and how comfortable your eyes feel.
Before applying, wash your hands and make sure the tip of the pencil is clean; wipe it on a tissue if it has been sitting open. Look up into a mirror and gently pull the lower lid down with a fingertip. Glide the kajal along the waterline from the outer corner inwards in one or two light strokes. You do not need to press hard. If you like a smokier look, run the pencil once along the lash line too and soften it with a cotton bud.
To stop it smudging by afternoon, especially in Mumbai’s humidity, blot the area under your eye with a tissue before applying, and press a little loose powder under the lower lash line afterwards. Our smudge-proof kajal sets in about 30 seconds, so try not to blink hard or touch your eyes in that time.
At night, never rub kajal off with soap and water. Soak a cotton pad with a gentle oil-based cleanser or coconut oil, hold it over the closed eye for 20 seconds and wipe outwards. Repeat with a fresh pad until no colour comes away. Do not share kajal with anyone, replace it 12 months after opening, and stop using it if your eyes feel irritated.
