How to send blouse measurements from home

Seven measurements, one well-fitting blouse and a few photos are all our tailors need to stitch yours.

About half our blouse orders come from customers who never visit the shop. Stitching from a distance works well if the measurements are taken carefully, so here is exactly what our tailor, Selvi, asks for.

The easiest route is to post us a blouse that already fits you well. We measure it flat, note the darts and use it as the pattern. Pack it with the order form and we return it with your new blouse. If you would rather measure yourself, ask someone to help and use a cloth tape, not a steel one.

We need seven numbers: bust, waist just under the bust, shoulder width from edge to edge, armhole, sleeve length, sleeve round at the end and blouse length from the shoulder point. Measure over the innerwear you plan to wear with the saree, keep the tape snug but not tight, and write each number in inches. Then add three photos taken in a fitted top, front, side and back. They tell Selvi more about posture and shoulder slope than any number does.

Stitching takes 7 days and starts at ₹1,200 for a plain lined blouse. Princess cuts, piping and back openings with tassels cost ₹300 to ₹900 more, and we confirm the price on WhatsApp before cutting the cloth. If the fit is off, send it back within 15 days and we alter it free.
