Why your second suit is quicker than your first

A common worry is that bespoke always means months. It does at the start; after that, your pattern does the work.

People often tell us they would like a bespoke suit but cannot spare the time for three fittings every time they need something. It is a fair worry, and it is mostly true only for the first piece.

Your first jacket starts from nothing. Our cutter drafts a paper pattern from your measurements and posture notes, and that pattern is tested at the baste fitting, when the jacket is loosely tacked together so it can be taken apart and recut. The forward fitting refines the shoulders, collar and sleeve pitch. The finish fitting checks lengths and buttons. Each fitting changes the pattern a little.

By the end, the pattern is a record of your body, not just your measurements. We keep it in our files with notes from every fitting. So your second suit begins from a tested pattern. Most clients need one fitting instead of three, and the making time drops by a week or two. Shirts work the same way: after the trial shirt is approved, repeat orders take ten days and can be placed over WhatsApp with a photo of the cloth.

The one exception is a change in weight. If you have gained or lost more than three or four kilos, we will ask you in for a quick check before cutting.
