A winter in the kothi
Bales arriving from Srinagar, fringes twisted by hand, shawls unfolded by the window: one December at our counter near Hall Bazaar, photographed in daylight.

Three generations, one long wooden counter.
Every shawl is unfolded on the same teak counter Sardar Gurbax Singh bought in 1962. We check the weave against the light, weigh it, twist the fringe by hand if it needs it, and write the weight on the tag.
Read our storyNew shawls, every Friday in winter.
A short WhatsApp note when a new bale arrives from Srinagar or Ludhiana.
