In the kothi
Three generations, one long wooden counter.
- 1962
- year the kothi opened
- 220 g
- a plain pashmina shawl
- 14
- weaving families we buy from
Who we are
Warmth, woven slowly.
Every shawl is unfolded on the same teak counter Sardar Gurbax Singh bought in 1962. We check the weave against the light, weigh it, twist the fringe by hand if it needs it, and write the weight on the tag.
Pashmina, Kashmiri wool and Punjabi lohis, folded by hand in our kothi near Hall Bazaar. Visit the kothi near Hall Bazaar, sit with a cup of tea and we will open as many shawls as you like, in daylight by the window. No appointment needed.

What we stand for
Three things we will not change
Weight on the tag
We weigh every shawl and write it on the tag, because weight tells you more about a pashmina than any label.
Named hands
Sozni and kani pieces come with a note naming the people who wove and embroidered them.
Daylight only
We photograph and show shawls in daylight by the window, so the colour you see is the colour you get.

Come and unfold a few on the counter.

His son Kuldeep travels to Srinagar and comes back with plain pashminas from two weaving families. Both still weave for us.

Phulkari borders and aari work
Kuldeep’s wife Manpreet starts working with embroiderers near Patiala and in Amritsar to edge stoles and wool shawls.

What customers say
Sample reviews, written for this demo. Real customer reviews replace them on your store.
I asked for a shawl for my mother’s seventieth and they opened twenty on the counter for me. She has worn it every winter since.
The monogrammed muffler reached my husband in Brampton in nine days, wrapped in muslin. He keeps the bag too.
The weight on the tag matched my kitchen scale to the gram. That is how I knew to trust them.
New shawls, every Friday in winter.
A short WhatsApp note when a new bale arrives from Srinagar or Ludhiana.
