Water, a drop of soap and the right cloth. Small habits that keep lenses clear and frames straight for years.

Most scratched lenses are scratched while being cleaned. A shirt corner or tissue drags dust across the coating, and over months the lenses turn hazy. A few habits prevent this.
Rinse the lenses under lukewarm tap water first, to wash dust away. Put a small drop of plain dishwashing liquid on your fingertip and rub both sides of each lens gently. Rinse again, shake off the water and dry with a clean microfibre cloth. Do this once a day. Avoid hot water, which can damage coatings, and never use household glass cleaners or saliva. Wash the microfibre cloth every week with mild soap, and do not use fabric softener on it. A dirty cloth spreads grease rather than removing it.
Take your glasses off with both hands. Pulling them off with one hand bends the frame over time, and one temple ends up higher than the other. Put them down with the lenses facing up, or in the case. In Hyderabad’s summer, do not leave them on a car dashboard; the heat can warp acetate and damage lens coatings.
If your glasses slide down, pinch, or sit crooked, bring them in. Adjustments at Nazar are free for life, take about five minutes, and you do not need an appointment. We also tighten hinge screws and replace nose pads, usually while you wait.
