Buying a home around Dasara, Diwali and Sankranti

Auspicious dates, registration timing and gruhapravesham planning for buyers in Hyderabad’s festive season.

From Dasara in October to Sankranti in January, our site offices are at their busiest. Many families in Hyderabad prefer to book a home, register it or perform a gruhapravesham on an auspicious day in this season. A little planning makes sure the dates line up.

Booking on a festival day is simple; it needs only the booking form, identity documents and the booking amount. If you want to book on Dasara or Diwali itself, visit the site and choose your unit a week or two earlier. The best floors and facings in a tower are often taken in the days just before a festival.

Registration takes more planning. It happens at the sub-registrar office and needs the full payment or loan disbursement, stamp duty paid and documents ready. Banks are slower in the festive weeks, so apply for your loan sanction at least four weeks before the date you have in mind. Sub-registrar offices also get crowded on auspicious days; book the slot early.

For a gruhapravesham in a ready home, handover must be complete first: the final walk-through, any snag fixes, and the keys. Allow three to four weeks between registration and the ceremony, so electrical connections, water and gas are in your name. Fix the muhurtham with your family priest early and tell our customer team so we can keep the lifts and lobby clean and free that morning. Sankranti in mid-January is a popular time for moving in, after the cool weather sets in. If that is your plan, start the loan process by October.
