Who we are
Tsokar Trails is run by three brothers who grew up in Skiu village in the Markha valley, carrying loads for trekkers. Since 2009 we have led over 4,000 people across Ladakh’s passes with our own ponies, cooks and tents.
Pick by days, height and season, or ask a guide.
We send a 6-week training plan and a kit list.
Two easy days in Leh before we walk.

Our cooks walk with every group. Ask about the food we carry and how we cook it at altitude.

The cook made fresh bread at 4,500 m. Ten days on the trail and not one repeated dinner.
We saw a snow leopard on day five, through the spotter’s scope, for twenty minutes. I still cannot believe it.
For Markha you should be able to walk 6–7 hours with a light pack for several days. We send a 6-week plan; regular stair climbing and long walks work well.
We build two rest days into every trip, check oxygen levels and pulse twice a day, and carry oxygen. If symptoms do not ease, the guide arranges descent; your safety comes first.
June to September for summer treks, January and February for the Chadar, February and March for snow leopards. Passes above 5,000 m usually open in late June.
