Two nights in our tents beside a high lake at 4,300 m, with a cook, hot water bottles and a heated dining tent. Day walks along the shore, and on clear nights, more stars than most people have seen. Transport from Leh in a shared vehicle. May to September.

Snow leopard trail
Seven days in Rumbak, in Hemis National Park, with a local spotter who has tracked snow leopards for 15 years. We scan the slopes each morning and evening and stay in a village homestay. Sightings are likely in a week but never certain. February and March.
