How many guests each of our spaces really holds

Capacity numbers depend on the function. What 150, 250 and 600 guests look like at the haveli.

Every venue publishes capacity numbers, and every family discovers that they depend on what you are doing. A courtyard that seats 250 for dinner holds 350 standing for a reception, and only 180 when there is a stage, a mandap and a dance floor.

Our main courtyard is about 28 metres by 20. For a seated dinner at round tables of ten, that is 250 guests with room for the buffet along the colonnade. For pheras with the mandap in the centre and guests on three sides, 300 is comfortable. The rooftop is long and narrow. It is lovely for a sangeet of 150, with the dance floor at the lake end and seating along the parapets. Beyond that, people stand on each other’s feet.

The lawn is our largest space. A reception for 600 standing works, or 400 seated with a stage. If you expect more than that, it is honest to say the haveli is not the right venue for the main reception, and many families hold that one function at a larger garden outside the old city.

At your site visit we draw your guest list on our floor plans, with the mandap, stage, bar and buffet in place. It is the quickest way to see whether a space fits the function before you commit.
