The house

Built for a merchant family, restored room by room.

Mehtab Chowk was built around 1790 by a family of cloth merchants on the slope above Gangaur Ghat. We spent eleven years restoring it with lime plaster, local masons and the original carvings, and opened it for weddings in 2016.

Reviews

What customers say

Sample reviews, written for this demo. Real customer reviews replace them on your store.

We booked the whole haveli for three nights. Our families were under one roof, and the rooftop sangeet with the palace lit up behind us is in every photo.
Nidhi and Arjun · Mumbai
The Mewari thali dinner was the thing our guests talked about. Staff kept refilling the dal baati until everyone gave up.
Sanjana K. · Ahmedabad
It rained on the wedding day. They moved the pheras into the darbar hall in under two hours and it looked as if it had been planned that way.

Questions

Before you book

Answers to what customers ask us most. More on the questions page.

How far ahead should we book?

For November to February, nine to twelve months ahead. Monsoon and summer dates can often be booked three or four months out.

Do we have to use your kitchen?

Yes, all food is from our own kitchen. We can bring in a specialist cook for a family recipe or a Jain or Marwari menu, working alongside our chef.

Can we bring our own decorator?

Yes. Your decorator works to our house rules: no nails, tape or glue on old walls, and no open flame near painted ceilings. We share them in writing.

Are fireworks allowed?

No fireworks or sky lanterns at the haveli. Cold-spark fountains are allowed on the lawn, placed by our team.
