How ordering works, when your bread is baked, and what happens if you are not home at 8 am.

If you have never ordered from us, the system is simple, but it is different from walking into a bakery and choosing from a shelf, so here is how it works.
Every afternoon at 4 pm we send tomorrow’s bake list on WhatsApp and put it on the website. Order before 6 pm, choose pickup or delivery, and pay online or on collection. The list closes at 6 because that is when we weigh out the next morning’s flour and shape the loaves for the night.
Your bread is baked between 3.30 and 6.30 am. If you collect, come any time from 7 am; your bag has your name on it and waits at the counter until 1 pm. If you choose delivery, our riders leave at 7 and reach most of town by 8.30 and Auroville by 9. Delivery costs ₹60, and is free above ₹1,000.
If you will not be home, tell us where to leave the bag: with the watchman, on the gate hook, in a box by the door. Bread is fine outside for a few hours in its paper bag; croissants are better collected or brought indoors. You can set a standing order, such as one country loaf every Tuesday and Saturday, and change or pause it by messaging us before 6 pm the evening before.
