Ten quiet minutes under a lamp, a few questions and no hard sell. What happens before your first treatment with us.

Every new guest at Kaluva has a skin check before their first treatment. It is free, it takes about ten minutes, and it is the reason we can tell you honestly whether a facial or peel suits you that day. Some guests arrive a little nervous about it, so here is exactly what happens.
You arrive ten minutes early, and we give you tea and a short form. It asks about your skincare routine, any medicines or prescribed creams, allergies, recent waxing or threading, and whether you are pregnant. Please be honest; some treatments are adjusted or skipped for these reasons, and the form stays with us.
Then your therapist takes you into a room and cleanses your face, so she sees your skin and not your make-up. She looks at it under a magnifying lamp, checking for dryness, oiliness, sensitivity, open pores and any broken or irritated areas. She will tell you what she sees in plain words and suggest a treatment, or confirm the one you booked.
If she sees something that needs a doctor, such as active acne, a rash or a mole that has changed, she will say so and suggest a dermatologist. We are a spa, not a clinic, and we do not diagnose. If the booked treatment is not right for your skin that week, we will change it at no extra cost. There is never a product pitch at the end.
