What you pay for in a ₹3,200 facial

Products, a trained therapist’s time, laundry, rent in Jubilee Hills and a quiet room for 90 minutes. Where the money goes.

Our signature hydrating facial costs ₹3,200. A salon nearby offers a facial for ₹1,200, and guests sometimes ask what the difference is. Here is roughly where your money goes.

The largest cost is time. The facial is 75 minutes of one therapist’s full attention, plus 15 minutes of rest and tea, plus the 15-minute room reset afterwards. That is close to two hours of a trained therapist’s day for one guest. Our therapists earn a fixed salary, not commission, and each one trains with Swathi for three months before she sees guests alone. Their pay is about ₹950 of the price.

Products come next: cleanser, toner, steam, mask, serum, moisturiser and sunscreen, all professional sizes, cost us about ₹380 a facial. Fresh linen and towels from the laundry, sealed tools, cotton and disposables add about ₹150. Rent for six rooms on Road No. 36, electricity for the air-conditioning and the steamers, and the front desk come to about ₹900 a booking. GST at 18 percent is about ₹490 of the price.

What is left, around ₹330, covers training, repairs, new equipment and our small margin. A cheaper facial usually means shorter time, several guests in one room, and a therapist paid on product sales. We have chosen differently, and we would rather explain our price than cut corners to lower it.
