How we price your old appliance in an exchange

Age, condition, size and whether it works: what our team looks at in your WhatsApp photo and how the price is set.

Exchange is one of the most used services at our shop. You send a photo of your old fridge, washer or AC on WhatsApp, we quote a price the same day and the amount comes off the bill for your new appliance. Customers are often curious how we arrive at the number.

We look at four things. First, the type and size. A 300-litre double-door fridge is worth more than a 190-litre single door, and a split AC more than a window AC, because the parts and metal are worth more. Second, the age. Most appliances lose value fastest in the first five years. Third, whether it works. A working appliance can be refurbished and resold by the dealers we pass them to, so it fetches more. Fourth, condition: rust on the body, missing parts, broken shelves or a cracked door.

As a rough guide, a working ten-year-old single-door fridge might fetch ₹1,500 to ₹2,500 in exchange. A working five-year-old front-load washer might fetch ₹4,000 to ₹6,000. A non-working appliance is usually valued for scrap, between ₹500 and ₹1,200, depending on the metal in it.

To get the best quote, send two or three clear photos: the front, the model plate on the side or back, and the inside. Tell us the age and whether it works. The quote holds for seven days. On delivery day, our fitters check that the old appliance matches the photos, then carry it down and take it away. You do not need to empty or clean it, though it helps if a fridge is defrosted.

Why we recommend BLDC fans

They draw about a third of the power of an old fan and run longer on an inverter.
