Why we ask for a full list, why you should never stop prescribed medicines and how our doctors plan around them.

Many of our guests already take medicines from another doctor, for blood pressure, sugar, thyroid or something else. A common worry is whether they can come for ayurvedic care at the same time, or whether they must choose one or the other. Here is how we approach it.
First, please never stop or change a medicine that another doctor has prescribed without speaking to that doctor. This is the first thing our doctors say in a consultation, and we say it again here. Ayurvedic care at Thanal is planned around your existing treatment, not instead of it.
Second, bring a full list. At your consultation, show the doctor the names and doses of everything you take, including supplements, home remedies and anything bought over the counter. Bring recent test reports if you have them. The doctor uses this to choose therapies, oils and any ayurvedic medicines that are suitable, and to decide what to avoid. Some therapies are not planned, or are changed, for people with certain conditions, and she will explain why.
Third, we keep things in writing. Any ayurvedic medicine we suggest is written on a prescription with its name, dose and duration, and we encourage you to show it to your regular doctor. If you notice anything unusual during a programme, tell the therapist or doctor at once. Our doctors would rather talk to your physician than guess. Being honest about what ayurveda can and cannot do for you is part of our care.
