What goes into an itemised quote

How to read ours, and what to ask any designer for.

A one-line quote that says “3 BHK interiors, ₹18 lakh” tells you very little. When the work starts, every change becomes an argument. We give every client an itemised quote, and we suggest you ask any designer for the same.

Ours is split by room, then by item. For a wardrobe, you see the size, the plywood grade and brand, the laminate code, the number of drawers, the hinge and channel brand, and the handle. For electrical work, you see the number of points, the wire brand and the switch range.

At the end is a summary: carpentry, civil work, false ceiling, electrical, painting, lighting, furnishing and our design and management fee. Taxes are shown separately.

If something changes on site, say you want an extra drawer, we issue a change note with the cost, and nothing is built until you approve it. At handover, we compare the final bill to the quote line by line. On most projects the difference is under three per cent.
