How embossing works, which fonts and sizes suit each bag, and when your order leaves the workshop.

Every bag and wallet we sell can carry initials embossed free. If you have never ordered one, here is how it works.
At checkout, add up to three letters in the note box, and say whether you want full stops between them. We emboss with heated brass letters pressed into the leather, not with foil or ink, so the letters are a shade darker than the leather and will age with it. There is one typeface, a plain serif, in two sizes: 8 mm for wallets and card holders, and 12 mm for bags. On a satchel the letters go on the flap below the buckles; on a tote, near the top of the front panel.
Within a day you get a WhatsApp message from Salma at the store, repeating your initials and position back to you. Please reply to confirm. If something looks wrong, this is the moment to change it, because once pressed, the letters cannot be removed.
Embossing and the final check take two to three working days. Then the bag is wrapped in a cotton dust bag with a small tin of balm and a care card, and sent by insured courier, arriving in about four days anywhere in India. Embossed pieces cannot be returned, but any defect is exchanged within 30 days. If you would like to see the letters pressed, visit the store and we will emboss while you wait, usually within an hour.
