Room rates are only part of what a beach holiday costs, and guests sometimes find the final bill higher than they expected. Here is a realistic budget for two people staying four nights in a sea-facing cottage in late November, so you can plan with clear numbers.
The room comes first. A sea-facing cottage is ₹6,800 a night for two, with breakfast. Until 15 December, our stay 4, pay 3 offer applies, so four nights cost ₹20,400 instead of ₹27,200. GST on rooms in this range is 5%, which adds ₹1,020, bringing the room to ₹21,420.
Next, getting here. Our fixed-rate taxi from Dabolim is ₹2,400 each way, so ₹4,800 for the return trip. From Madgaon station it is ₹1,800 each way.
Meals beyond breakfast depend on how you eat. Lunch at our restaurant, such as fish curry rice and a fresh lime soda, costs about ₹1,100 for two. Dinner with a starter, two mains and dessert averages ₹2,400 for two before drinks. Over four days, with one dinner out in Palolem, most couples spend around ₹13,000 on food. Then the extras. The dolphin boat trip is ₹900 each, the sunset kayak trip ₹1,200 each, and a half-day taxi to Cabo de Rama ₹2,200. Doing all three adds ₹6,400. That brings a comfortable four-night stay for two to roughly ₹45,600, or about ₹11,400 a day. Couples who eat simply and skip the trips spend closer to ₹36,600.
