The best time to visit South Goa
Month by month, from the first calm seas of October to the warm evenings of May.
Our season runs from October to May, and each part of it has its own character.
October and early November are green after the monsoon. The sea calms, the paddy behind the beach is still standing, and rates are low. Some days are humid, with an evening shower. It is a good time for a quiet, cheaper stay.
Mid-November to February is the classic Goa season. Days are about 31 °C, evenings cool, skies clear and the sea flat and warm. Christmas and New Year are the busiest weeks, and we are usually full by September, so book early.
March is our favourite month. The crowds thin, the sea is clear, mangoes are starting and the dolphins are still around. April and May are hot, around 34 °C, but the mornings and evenings on the beach are lovely, and our rates are lower again.
Whatever the month, the light is best from 5 pm, and the beach is quietest before 9 am.
