Our shop
Our grandfather opened the shop in 1961, two streets from the Meenakshi temple’s north tower. We still buy from the same casting families in Nachiarkoil and Kumbakonam, weigh every piece in front of you, and polish old lamps for anyone who brings them back.
Every piece is listed with its height and weight.
We polish and check it on the day you order.
Packed in a wooden crate, insured, in 3–6 days.

Our re-polish service takes 4 days and costs from ₹150 a piece. Bring them in, or send them by courier.

The kuthuvilakku arrived in a wooden crate without a scratch. The weight was exactly what the listing said.
We bought my mother’s wedding lamp here in 1978. This year they polished it for ₹300 and it looks new.
The bell has a long, clear ring. You can tell it is real bell metal.
Rub it with tamarind pulp or lemon and salt, rinse with warm water and dry it straight away with a soft cloth. Avoid scouring pads.
Our lamps are cast brass, about 70% copper and 30% zinc. Bells are bell metal with tin. The alloy is written on every listing.
Lamps and bells go in a wooden crate with straw and bubble wrap. Small items go in a double-wall carton. Every parcel is insured.
If anything arrives dented or broken, send us a photo within 48 hours and we send a replacement. We cannot take back used lamps.
