Salt air, monsoon damp and air-conditioned offices are hard on watches. A few habits help.

Mumbai is difficult for watches. Salt in the air corrodes steel bracelets, monsoon damp gets past old gaskets, and moving between an air-conditioned office and a wet street can fog the inside of the glass.
If you see fog under the crystal, bring the watch in that week. Moisture inside a movement causes rust within days, and rust is the most expensive repair we do. Do not try to dry it with a hair dryer.
Check the water resistance rating before you swim, and remember it applies to a new watch. Gaskets harden with age; we recommend replacing them every two years if you wear the watch near water. It costs ₹500 and takes a day.
Rinse steel bracelets in fresh water once a week during the monsoon and dry them with a soft cloth. Leather straps should be rotated, not worn wet; a damp strap left on all day will crack within a season. We sell rubber and fabric straps that suit the monsoon months.
