What a simple routine costs per month

Cleanser, day cream and a night oil: the real monthly cost of a three-step routine, with our prices worked out.

People sometimes ask whether a natural routine is expensive. The price on a bottle can look high, but what matters is how long it lasts. Here is a simple three-step routine using our products, worked out per month.

Cleansing: our turmeric soap trio is ₹540 for three 100 g bars. Used twice a day for the face only, one bar lasts about six weeks, so the trio lasts about four and a half months. That is roughly ₹120 a month.

Day cream: the vetiver day cream is ₹890 for 50 g. A pea-sized amount each morning, about 0.4 g, means a jar lasts around four months, or about ₹225 a month. Since the jar should be finished within six months of opening, that pace suits it. Night oil: the kumkumadi night serum is ₹1,290 for 30 ml. At two to three drops each night, a bottle lasts about three months, so roughly ₹430 a month. Together, the three steps come to about ₹775 a month, or ₹26 a day.

To spend less, pick one step to start with rather than three. If your skin is oily, the aloe and cucumber gel at ₹420 for 100 ml can replace the day cream in summer; at about three months a tube, that brings the monthly total to about ₹690. And use less than you think you need; most people use twice the amount their skin can take in, and the extra is simply wiped off on the pillow.
