Rhododendrons in April, clear peaks in October, snow in January.

Sikkim is open all year, but each season gives you a different trip.
March to May is spring. Rhododendrons flower in Yumthang and along the roads above Lachung, the days are mild and the valleys are green. Snow lingers near Zero Point. This is the busiest season after Puja, so book early.
June to September is the monsoon. Landslides close roads, North Sikkim is often shut and mountain views are rare. We do not recommend North Sikkim in these months, though Gangtok and Pelling can be pleasant on a flexible plan.
October and November are the clearest months. After the rains, Kanchenjunga is visible from Gangtok and Darjeeling most mornings. Puja holidays fall here, so hotels fill by July.
December to February is cold, with snow at Tsomgo Lake and in Lachung. Roads above Lachung may close after heavy snowfall. Pack warm, expect cold nights, and enjoy the quiet. Whatever the month, keep a day spare in your plan; mountain roads do not run to a timetable.
