What happens on installation day
Delivery, unpacking, fitting, a demonstration in Tamil and taking away the old one: a typical visit from our fitters.
Every appliance we sell in Madurai is delivered and installed by our own fitters, who are on our payroll and not contractors. Here is what a typical installation visit looks like, so you can be ready.
The day before, our coordinator calls to confirm the address, a two-hour time window and anything we should know, such as a narrow staircase or a lift that does not work. For ACs and washing machines, they also ask about the electrical point and water connection, and whether you need a new socket or stand.
On the day, two fitters arrive in our van with the appliance, tools and fittings. They unpack it in front of you, so you can check for any dents or scratches before they start. If something is wrong, it goes back in the van and we bring another. For a fridge, installation means placing, levelling and switching on, with a reminder to wait two hours before loading food. For a washing machine, it means connecting the inlet and drain, removing the transit bolts and running a short empty cycle. A split AC takes about two to three hours, with the indoor unit mounted, the copper pipe run through the wall and the outdoor unit fixed on a stand.
Before leaving, the fitter explains the appliance in Tamil or English, shows you the controls and the warranty card, and gives you our service number. If you have an exchange, the old appliance is carried down and taken away. Please keep the box for a week, in case anything needs to be returned.
