Hard soil, wrong depth and late sharpening wear out shares fastest.

Plough shares are the part that wears out first, and the one farmers replace most. A set that should last a full season can be finished in a month if the plough is set or used badly.
Set the depth correctly. Ploughing deeper than the soil needs puts more strain on the share point and the tractor. For most Punjab fields, 20–25 cm is enough. Level the plough from side to side and front to back, so the share cuts flat instead of digging in at the point.
Watch the soil. Ploughing very dry, hard soil wears steel fast. If you can, plough after light rain or irrigation. Stony patches wear points quickly, so slow down there.
Sharpen early. A blunt share needs more pull and wears faster still. Our boron steel shares can be ground at any dealer workshop. When the share has worn back by a third, replace it, and keep a spare set in the tractor shed during the season.
