Your 100-night trial: what the first weeks feel like

Why we ask for 21 nights before a return, and what usually happens as your body gets used to a new mattress.

Every mattress we make comes with a 100-night trial. Customers sometimes ask why we ask them to sleep on it for at least 21 nights before deciding. The reason is that the first two weeks on a new mattress rarely feel like the rest of its life.

In the first week, almost any new mattress feels strange. If you have slept for years on an old coir mattress with a dip in the middle, a firm, even surface can feel hard at first, and you may wake a few times. A natural latex mattress also has a faint vanilla-like smell for the first week or two, which fades if you air the room each morning. Keep using the same pillow for now, so you change one thing at a time.

By the second and third weeks most people notice they are turning less in the night. The latex has softened slightly at the surface, and the body has adjusted. This is the time to judge firmness. If you still wake with an aching hip or shoulder on a firm coir-latex mattress, or feel you are sinking on a softer latex, call us.

If it is not right before night 100, we collect it free anywhere in Kerala and either refund you in full or swap it for another firmness. Swaps are more common than returns: about one customer in fifteen swaps, usually from firm to medium firm. Fewer than one in fifty returns a mattress altogether.
