Sending a cracker gift to family in another town

How we get a gift box to relatives in Ajmer, Jodhpur or Udaipur, what it costs and what they need to do.

Many of our customers live in Jaipur but have family across Rajasthan, and a gift box from Chandpol is a Diwali tradition in a lot of homes in Ajmer, Bikaner and Udaipur. Because crackers cannot go by courier or post, sending them takes a little more planning than most gifts.

We send boxes by road transport, which means a goods carrier that runs between Jaipur and the other town and keeps an office there. Your relative collects the carton from that office. They will need the lorry receipt, which we send on WhatsApp the day the carton leaves, and usually a photo identity card. We tell them the office address and its opening hours in advance.

Timings matter. Most transport offices close for two or three days around Diwali and get very busy in the week before. We stop sending outstation cartons on 1 November for that reason. Jodhpur and Udaipur usually take two to three days; Ajmer and Tonk often reach the next day.

Transport costs ₹300 to ₹600 per carton and is paid by the person collecting. If you would rather your relative not pay, tell us and we will add it to your bill and send the carton with freight prepaid. One carton holds up to four gift boxes, so if several relatives live in the same town, pack them together and save on freight. If the carton arrives damaged, ask your relative to photograph it before opening and send the pictures within 24 hours. We will replace the damaged box in the next carton.
