A simple way to match a bronze to a shelf, a niche or a floor.

A bronze that is too large for its place feels crowded; one that is too small disappears. A few measurements help.
For a pooja shelf, measure the depth first. The base of the bronze should sit at least an inch inside the edge, with room in front for a lamp. Most shelves suit pieces of 4 to 9 inches.
For a wall niche, aim for the bronze to fill about two thirds of the height of the opening, so the top of the head or the ring of flames has space above it.
For a floor-standing piece in a living room or hall, 24 inches and above, look at it from where you usually sit. The face should be roughly at eye level when you are seated.
Weight matters too. A solid copper icon of 5 inches can weigh 700 g; a brass statue of 24 inches can weigh over 10 kg. Make sure the shelf can carry it. If you are unsure, send us a photo of the space with a tape measure in it, and we will suggest a size.
