Layers, grip and a raincoat, whatever the month.

Munnar is 1,600 m up, and the weather changes fast. A bright noon at 24 °C can become a misty evening at 12 °C, and in December nights can drop close to freezing.
Pack layers rather than one heavy coat: a fleece or sweater, a light jacket and a scarf or cap for early mornings. Bring trousers that can get muddy. Shoes with grip matter more than anything; estate paths and viewpoints are steep and slippery after rain.
From June to September, bring a light raincoat or poncho. We lend umbrellas, but they are not much help in the wind on a ridge. Leech socks are useful for walks in the monsoon; we keep a few pairs, and salt works too.
The sun is strong at this height even when it feels cool, so pack sunscreen and sunglasses. Carry cash; there are ATMs in Munnar town, but card machines are not common in small shops. Mobile signal is good on the main networks, and our Wi-Fi works in all rooms.
