Our home
Three generations on the same hillside.
- 1952
- year the estate was planted
- 5
- rooms, never more
- 120 acres
- of coffee and pepper
Who we are
Five rooms, one kitchen, and the clouds at your window.
Thomas Varghese’s grandfather planted this estate in 1952. In 2015 the family opened five rooms in the old bungalow. Thomas runs the estate, Mariamma runs the kitchen, and their daughter Annie answers your messages.
Stay with the Varghese family on a 9-acre tea and cardamom estate, 1,600 m up. Home-cooked Kerala food and walks with people who live here. Rain most afternoons, clear mornings, waterfalls everywhere and fewer people. We lend umbrellas and raincoats.

What we stand for
Three things we will not change
Small on purpose
Five rooms means we know every guest by name and can cook what you like.
Food from here
Our vegetables, eggs, pepper and cardamom come from the estate or the farms around it.
Light on the hill
Solar water heaters, no plastic bottles and a rainwater tank that runs the kitchen in the dry months.

Come in the monsoon. The hills are greenest in July.
Rain most afternoons, clear mornings, waterfalls everywhere and fewer people. We lend umbrellas and raincoats.

What customers say
Sample reviews, written for this demo. Real customer reviews replace them on your store.
We woke up above the clouds every morning. Mariamma’s appam and stew were the best thing we ate in Kerala.
The estate walk with Rajan was the highlight for our children. He knew every plant.
Quiet, clean and warm in December, and Annie sorted our taxi from Kochi without any fuss.
