Simple habits that keep your pottery looking new for years.

Stoneware is tough. Fired to over 1,200°C, the clay becomes dense and glassy, and our glazes are made for daily use. Still, a few habits help it last for decades.
Avoid sudden changes of temperature. Do not pour boiling water into a mug straight from the fridge, or put a hot dish onto a wet granite counter. Most cracks in stoneware come from thermal shock, not from knocks.
The microwave and dishwasher are fine. Our glazes contain no metals that spark. In the dishwasher, give each piece a little space so they do not rattle against each other.
The unglazed base can pick up grey marks from steel cutlery or the sink. These are metal marks on the surface, not damage, and come off with a little baking soda paste. Tea and coffee stains inside light glazes lift with the same paste, or with a soak in warm water and a spoon of baking soda overnight.
If a piece chips, stop using it for food and drink. Bring or post it back, and we will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
