How the two foundations differ in finish, touch-ups and how they photograph in daylight, under stage lights and on video.

Every bride asks us whether she should choose HD or airbrush makeup. Both last through a long wedding day, and both can look natural or dramatic. The real difference is in how the foundation is applied, and that makes each one better suited to certain venues and certain kinds of light.
HD makeup uses fine, light-reflecting liquid and cream products applied with brushes and sponges. It is built up in thin layers and pressed into the skin, so it moves with your face and looks like skin in daylight. It is easy to touch up with a sponge and a little product during the day, which is useful for a long morning muhurtham or an outdoor haldi. Most of our South Indian and North Indian bridal looks use HD.
Airbrush foundation is sprayed onto the skin in a fine mist with a small compressor. It sets into a very even, thin layer that holds well in heat and does not crease. It shows less texture under strong stage lights and flash, which is why we use it for our reception look. Touch-ups are harder, because the finish cannot easily be patted back with a sponge.
So think about the light. Daylight venues, gardens and temples suit HD. Evening receptions with bright stage lighting and a lot of flash photography suit airbrush. If your wedding includes both, many brides choose HD for the ceremony and airbrush for the reception, and we plan that at the trial. Airbrush adds about ₹4,000 to a bridal look.
