Budgeting for makeup across a five-function wedding

Hyderabad weddings often run across four or five functions, and makeup costs can surprise families when they are added up at the end. It helps to plan them all together at the start. Here is a typical budget with our current prices.

For the bride, the wedding look is the largest item: ₹26,000 to ₹28,000 for South or North Indian bridal, with hair, draping and a trial included. A reception look in airbrush is ₹18,000. An engagement look is ₹14,000, and the haldi and mehendi looks are ₹9,000 per function day. All five come to roughly ₹76,000 to ₹78,000.

Family makeup is the next part. Mothers, sisters and bridesmaids are ₹4,500 each with hair and draping when booked with a bridal package. Four family members for the wedding and reception add ₹36,000. Travel within 25 km of Jubilee Hills is free; beyond that, it is charged at cost.

There are sensible places to save. Many brides do their own simple makeup for the haldi, since the turmeric covers everything anyway, and book us only for the mehendi evening. If the engagement and the wedding fall in the same week, a softer engagement look by one of our junior artists costs ₹9,500 instead of ₹14,000. Family members can share a single hair stylist and do their own makeup. We take a 30% advance to hold the dates, with the balance due on each function day.
