Sixteen teams, one referee per match and a big screen: what happens from registration to the final.

Every Saturday at 2 pm, sixteen teams of five play our 5v5 tactical shooter tournament. Here is how a Saturday runs, from the inside.
Entries open on Monday and close at 9 pm on Thursday, or when sixteen teams have paid. Entry is ₹1,500 a team. On Friday we draw the bracket at random and post it in the WhatsApp group, with each team’s station numbers and match times.
Teams check in from 1.15 pm. Each player gets a PC in a row of five, and we check that everyone is on the right account. The rules are printed and stuck on the wall: map choices, the number of rounds, how pauses work and what happens if a player disconnects. A referee sits behind each match, and their decisions are final.
The first round runs on eight sets of PCs at once. From the quarter-finals, matches are shown on the big screen at the front with a commentator, and the room fills up with friends and other teams. The final usually starts around 7 pm.
The top three teams take home trophies and gaming-hour passes. Results and the bracket are posted at 10 pm. We keep the format simple and the same every week, so teams can plan, practise and come back.
