Our batches run from 6 am to 9 pm. How the time of day changes the class, and which slots suit which children.

Our children’s courses run in four kinds of slots, and parents often choose the one that fits the school timetable without thinking about how it suits the child. The time of day changes a class more than you might expect.
The 6 am and 7 am batches are the quietest. The pool is calm, the water is clear and the coaches are fresh. Children who are early risers do well here, and swimming before school often settles them for the day. The difficulty is the wake-up in winter, so we suggest morning batches mainly from March to October.
The 4 pm and 5 pm batches are the busiest. They suit children who come straight from school, but some are tired and hungry by then. Give them a light snack, such as a banana or a few dates, about 45 minutes before, never a full meal. The 6 pm and 7 pm batches are better for older children, who are more settled in the evening.
Weekend batches on Saturday and Sunday mornings run at 9, 10 and 11 am. They are the easiest for working parents to watch, and the warmest in winter. The catch is that a course of 20 sessions takes ten weeks instead of five, and children progress a little more slowly with long gaps between classes. If you can, mix them: two weekday evenings and one weekend morning is the pattern many of our families settle into.
