Booking a first season: how to split 30 cases across lines

A new shop rarely knows what will sell. A starting mix that our longest-standing dealers would book in your place.

Every June a few dealers call us who have never run a cracker shop before. Their first question is always the same: what should we book. The honest answer depends on your town, but a sensible first order looks much like this.

About a third of your cases should be sparklers. They are the item every family buys, they move fast and they keep well if they do not sell. For a 30-case order, that means eight cases of 10 cm electric sparklers and two of 30 cm colour sparklers. Next come ground items: four cases of flower pots big, three of ground chakkars and two of colour koti. These are the second thing every customer reaches for.

Then add rockets, two cases of lunik and one of whistling, and a small range of sky shots. Four cartons each of the 12-shot and 30-shot cakes, and one carton of 60-shot, is enough to fill a shelf without tying up too much money. Keep garlands to one or two cases until you know your street.

That comes to roughly ₹1,40,000 at our 2026 dealer rates, well above our minimum order. Book with a 30 percent advance and we will hold the rate until dispatch. After Deepavali, send us your sales by line. We will help you adjust the mix for your second season, which is when most shops start to earn properly.
