Planning fireworks for an Indian wedding

Which moment, which effect, and what to tell the venue first.

Most couples come to us wanting “fireworks at the wedding”. The first question we ask back is: at which moment? A baraat entry, a varmala, a first dance and a send-off need very different things, and the venue decides much of it.

For the baraat, guests are outdoors and moving, so cold fountains along the route and a few aerials at the gate work well. For the varmala, people are close to the stage, often indoors, so cold-spark machines are the right choice: a column of sparks with no smoke or bang. The sangeet is the same. A send-off is gentle: long low-smoke sparklers held by guests, with our hosts handing them out and collecting the wires.

Tell the venue early. Most Pune lawns are happy with aerials if there is a 25–40 m clear zone; many halls want an equipment sheet before they allow cold sparks. A week before the wedding, we walk the ground with your planner and mark where everything goes.

Budget simply: one moment done well beats four done in a hurry. A varmala moment starts at ₹14,500; a full baraat entry at ₹28,000.
