Is a gift box better value than buying loose?

We priced our 45-item gift box against the same items bought box by box. Here is what we found.

Customers often ask whether gift boxes are good value or simply convenient. So we took our 45-item gift box at ₹2,650 and priced the equivalent loose boxes from our own list.

The gift box holds sparklers in two sizes, flower pots, ground chakkars, a few rockets, colour pencils, a small garland and two small cakes. Buying the closest loose equivalents, the total comes to about ₹3,100. So the gift box is roughly ₹450 cheaper. The saving comes from the way it is packed: fewer separate cartons and one sealed outer box for the whole set.

But there is a catch. The loose boxes contain more of each item: ten flower pots instead of the gift box’s four, for example. Measured by the number of pieces, buying loose works out better for a big family. A gift box suits a small household, a first Diwali in a new city, or giving to staff, neighbours and relatives, because everything is chosen, packed and ready to hand over.

For a family of five with two or three children, a common approach is one gift box plus a few loose favourites, often extra sparklers and one 30-shot cake. That usually totals ₹4,000 to ₹4,500. For housing societies and offices giving 25 boxes or more, ask us about bulk pricing on gift boxes, which brings the cost per box down further. Send your numbers on WhatsApp and we will price both ways so you can compare side by side.
