A Saturday at our Doraha test farm: what to expect
Bring your tractor, try an implement in real soil and talk to our engineers. How a test farm visit works.
Every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, our test farm near Doraha is open to farmers who want to try an implement before they buy. Our 12 acres are where every new design is tested through each season, and they are a good place to see an implement working in real Punjab soil. Here is what a visit involves.
The farm is a short drive from Doraha, just off the main road towards Ludhiana; your dealer can send you the location. Call your dealer or our works by Thursday to say which implement you want to try and what tractor you will bring, so we have the right model and hitch ready. You can also come without your tractor; we have two of our own, at 45 HP and 65 HP.
When you arrive, one of our field engineers, usually Gurpreet, fits the implement to your tractor and sets it for the soil condition of the day. You then work a strip of the field yourself, with the engineer walking alongside to explain the depth, the speed and what to look for. Try it in two or three settings, and look behind you at the finish of the soil.
After the trial, you can see the other implements on the farm, look at worn parts from our test machines to see how they wear, and sit with the engineer over tea to discuss your farm. There is no charge and no pressure to buy that day. If you decide to order, your dealer gets the details from us and calls you within a day.
