An hour at our design desk: what to bring and what you get

How a free design-desk session works, what we need from you, and what you take home at the end of the hour.

Our design desk is a large table at the back of the showroom, with a screen, sample trays and two people who do nothing but plan floors and walls. Any customer can book an hour, free, whether the project is one bathroom or a whole house. Here is how to get the most from it.

Bring a floor plan with room sizes if you have one, even a hand sketch with measurements. Photos of the rooms help a great deal, especially of existing doors, windows, skirting and where pipes come out of the walls. If you have an architect or contractor, bring them or ask them to join on a video call. Bring photos of floors or bathrooms you like too, from anywhere.

During the hour, Pooja or Imran will go through each room with you. They will suggest materials for the way the room is used, show you tiles side by side on a trolley, and walk you into the mock-up rooms to see them laid at full size and in different light. Then they draw the layout on screen: where each tile goes, where cuts fall, how patterns line up at doorways and where to place borders.

Within two working days you receive a PDF with the layout, a box-by-box quantity list with wastage, and a quote. There is no obligation to buy. If you do, we deliver to site in batches as work progresses, and a member of the desk visits once during laying to check the layout matches the drawing.
