Your first visit to our clinic: what to expect

What to bring, how long a consultation takes, and how we share notes and estimates afterwards.

If you have just adopted a dog or cat, or moved to Kondapur and are looking for a new vet, here is how a first visit at Snehitha usually goes.

Book a slot online or on WhatsApp, and tell us the species, age and the main reason for the visit. Bring any earlier vaccination cards, lab reports and the names of medicines your pet takes. For a cat, use a carrier; for a dog, a short leash rather than a retractable one, because our waiting area can be busy in the evenings. Cats go straight to our separate cat room, away from barking.

A general consultation is booked for 20 minutes. The vet starts by asking about food, appetite, stool, energy and any changes you have noticed. Then comes a nose-to-tail examination: eyes, ears, teeth and gums, heart and lungs, belly, skin, coat, joints and weight. You can stay with your pet throughout and hold them if they are calmer that way.

If the vet suggests tests, such as a blood panel or an X-ray, they will explain why and what each costs before doing anything. Most results come back within four hours, so you can wait, go home, or come back in the evening for a short talk about them. Within a few hours of the visit, we send the notes on WhatsApp: what we found, any medicines with doses, and the date for the next vaccine or check. The consultation fee is ₹600, and you can pay by UPI, card or cash.
